What inspires your interiors style?
MOT takes a lot of inspiration from Scandinavia for their minimalist lifestyle. We also take a lot of inspiration from architectural buildings and shapes!
What does your work space look like?
We have a big office that has two large desks (one each) and we each have our set parts of Made of Tomorrow, our work space is surrounded with inspiration and also previous MOT products to reflect on.
How have your products evolved since you founded MOT (2015)?
MOT is first ever collection was made in China where as our last 3 collections have been 100% designed and made in NZ, which is now what MOT is all about!
Can you tell us about some of your favourite products?
Our Fold Bedside Tables are definitely our favourite product from this range, we both have one each either side of the bed. They are just so function and minimal!
What do customers love most about your products?
I think that the fact we are 100% designed and made in NZ is a winner for most customers and that every product we design has a purpose/function that can be part of your ever day life.
What colours/trends do you see emerging this season?
This season exudes warmth, pairing earthy and rich hues with cosy neutral shades including terracotta, soft grey-greens, and of course neutrals.
How would you describe New Zealand's art and design culture?
It's definitely all about the handmade vibe at the moment and also a lot of collaborations between NZ artists which is awesome!
What is the best piece of advice you've ever received?
Best advice I have ever received is to just go for it.
And finally, do you have any advice for aspiring New Zealand creatives?
Again, just go for it, if you are passionate about something, push it and never give up!
All imagery is credited to Dan Craig & Matthew Greenfaas, who styled and photographed all of the above. To shop Made of Tomorrow you can visit their website here or follow them on Facebook here. Alternatively, you can like them on Instagram for updates on new ranges and inspirational imagery.
